Jane Hunt’s Work Now on View in the Booth Museum’s Permanent Collection

Jane Hunt’s painting, A Gentle Light Remains (40 x 32” oil on panel), has been installed in the permanent collection of the Booth Museum of Western Art. This significant addition underscores the museum’s commitment to celebrating contemporary Western art and cements Hunt’s place as a leading figure in the landscape painting genre.

Created during her tenure as the museum’s 2025 Artist in Residence, the piece reflects Hunt’s signature style of serene, tonal landscapes. The plaque accompanying the work reads:

“Jane Hunt creates serene, tonal landscapes that evoke deep emotion and quiet reflection. Her poetic approach captures the essence of the land, blending the spirit of the West with a universal sense of tranquility, and a whisper of the eternal.”

During her residency, Hunt led two landscape painting workshops and delivered several lectures at the museum, offering audiences insight into her creative process and the inspiration behind her work. The experience - shaped by the Booth’s welcoming spirit and strong leadership - was both inspiring and deeply meaningful for the artist.

The Booth Museum, recognized as a cornerstone of the Western art world, continues to elevate the appreciation of contemporary Western art with the inclusion of A Gentle Light Remains in its esteemed permanent collection, further enhancing its legacy of artistic excellence.
